ROCHELLE – Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois received a grant from the Rochelle Area Community Foundation earlier this year during the Granting Futures event. The organization thanked RACF for supporting the Girl Scout Mission, where future community leaders have a space all their own, where their interests, their experience, and their leadership, today and tomorrow, is the top priority. The Hispanic Engagement in Girl Scout Leadership Excellence was awarded $2,745, funded by the Jeffrey W. Cole Family Memorial and the RACF Endowment Fund. Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois serve 16 counties, including Ogle, Lee, and Dekalb county. A portion of the grant will be used to support Hispanic and bilingual troops in Rochelle with bilingual materials.
