CHICAGO - Gasoline prices have fallen ahead of the busy Memorial Day travel weekend across the country. In Illinois, the average for a gallon of regular gas is $4.01, way above the lowest regionally, which is Lee County at $3.72 per gallon. Ogle County is slightly higher at $3.74 per gallon average, with DeKalb County coming in the most expensive regionally, at $3.77. Experts say the added demand this weekend could cause prices to rise, but the average is still around seven cents below Memorial Day last year.
