ROCHELLE - A van full of diapers was donated to the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry this week, thanks to a diaper drive by the staff and volunteers from Rochelle Community Hospital. Over the past three years, team members at the hospital have raised nearly $2,000 to help the youngest area residents. Rochelle Community Hospital Foundation Manager, Michelle LaPage, said they’ve always helped the pantry with food items, but they discovered another important need.
“Sometimes we get a list of the things they really need,” LaPage said, “and somehow in those discussions diapers had come up.”
The Employer of Choice Team at the hospital helped collect 120 cases of diapers for the Pantry.
“This is just one of the many things the team supports.” she said, “We just recently did a drive for the Care Closet at the Rochelle Middle School. We've done the Habitat For Humanity of Ogle County Stud Fundraiser. We’re always trying to be out and about and help our community as much as we can.”
The Northern Illinois Food Bank will be visiting Rochelle Community Hospital for a distribution event on June 6th.
