Chicago Relaunching Guaranteed Basic Income Program

CHICAGO -  Chicago is relaunching its guaranteed basic income program.  The city will use 63-million-dollars in federal COVID-19 relief funding for the program, which provides a 500-dollar monthly stipend to low-income Chicagoans.  The program launched in July 2022 under former Mayor Lori Lightfoot.  It supported five-thousand residents picked from a citywide lottery.
