DEKALB - Three people are facing charges after an investigation into a shooting that injured one person in February in DeKalb. The DeKalb Police Department say they were called on February 5th to the 100 Block of South 2nd Street for a fight and purported gunfire. One man was taken to an area hospital after being shot with a handgun after what police described was an isolated incident. Authorities say last week they took 24-year-old Christian Rios of DeKalb into custody and charged him with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Street Gang Member, Aggravated Battery, Unlawful Use of a Weapon by a Felon, and Mob Action. Also charged with Aggravated Battery and Mob Action were 27-year old Christian Contreres and 23-year-old Anthony Lara, both of DeKalb. Rios is being held at the DeKalb County Jail. Lara is currently released on bond and Contreras is being held at the Illinois Department of Corrections.
