Cubs win home opener, White Sox were shutout by Atlanta

(Chicago, IL) -- The Cubs shut out the Rockies 5-0 to open their series at Wrigley Field.
Shota Imanaga earned his first win of the season after striking out nine batters over six scoreless innings.
Cody Bellinger went one for four and drove in a pair of runs after singling in the bottom of the seventh. Chicago is now 2-and-2.
Dakota Hudson suffered the loss after allowing three unearned runs over five and a third innings pitched. Nolan Jones went oh for four at the plate and made a couple of key errors in the field. Colorado is now 1-and-4.

 

(Chicago, IL) -- The Braves blew out the White Sox 9-0 in eight innings from Chicago.
Austin Riley led the offense with a three-run homer and finished with four RBI, while Orlando Arcia knocked in two runs. Charlie Morton earned the win after giving up just three hits and two walks, while striking out six batters over five-and-two-thirds innings. Atlanta is now 3-and-1 on the season.
Chris Flexen got the loss after giving up four runs on six hits over four-plus innings. Yoan Moncada had two of Chicago's three hits. The White Sox are still winless on the season at 0-and-4.
