DEKALB - An adult amateur men's and women's soccer club will be taking to the field tonight to raise money for the Kishwaukee United Way. DeKalb County United will be taking on Bavarian United at 7 PM at the NIU Track & Soccer Complex, which is located between the Convocation Center and Huskie Stadium. John Hall, President of DeKalb County United, said they are in their sixth season of play, and they wanted to help out a community organization this summer.
"Went in and had a meeting with them and their executive director, just trying to find a way to introduce ourselves to them and what they do to the community and all those kinds of things," said Hall, "So this was kind of our first attempt of let's bring some people out, have a good time, and if we can raise a little money for United Way, wonderful."
Kishwaukee United Way supports residents in DeKalb County, and 20% of the ticket sales at the game tonight supports that non-profit organization.
