ROCHELLE - National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, and it is the ideal time to safely dispose of any unused medications. Authorities say you will risk contaminating the water supply if drugs are flushed or go to a landfill. You will also help prevent abuse of drugs and accidental poisoning, especially in children. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration promotes area Take Back days, reminding residents of the importance of safe medication disposal.
If you have unneeded or expired medication, take it to any area police department or to the community drop box at Rochelle Community Hospital. The drop box is located at RCH in Patient Access near the 3rd Street entrance.
