OREGON - The City of Oregon on Tuesday night made a proclamation for the start of Motorcycle Safety Month. Mayor Ken Williams honored ABATE of Illinois, A Brotherhood Aimed Toward Education, to encourage motorcycle safety. Recommendations include wearing appropriate protective gear, performing regular maintenance checks and enrolling in IDOT's free motorcycle safety courses to learn or brush up on riding skills.
“We have a lot of motorcyclists traveling through our city,” Williams said, “ and we wish everyone would be aware and look out for their safety.”
