ROCHELLE - The City of Rochelle will be looking for area artists to leave their mark in the city. Proposals for any type of art to be displayed in public places will be due May 21st. In 2022, the sibling duo of Mat and Mandey Steder completed a floral art piece on the Hub City Furniture building that has served as the backdrop for numerous community events and even family photos. Now the city is wanting to add another great attraction. City Manager Jeff Fiegenschuh said the first mural created a sense of community pride. Art may be placed on City-owned property or on private property as part of this project. Maps of City-owned spaces and details on permissions for the use of privately owned property are included in the informational packet available at the City of Rochelle website.
