Ogle County Deputies Involved in Two Separate Pursuits of Dixon DriversĀ

OREGON - Two different Dixon drivers caused pursuits by Ogle County Deputies. On Monday morning deputies attempted to stop a vehicle allegedly driven by 39-year old Nicholas Schultheis near Leaf River Road and Illinois Route 64. He reportedly was chased by law enforcement into the city of Oregon, where he stopped and allegedly fled on foot. Around noon on Monday, Ogle County Deputies were notified of a man walking on foot on Illinois Route 2 without a shirt. After an investigation, they identified him as the suspect in the earlier pursuit. Schultheis was charged with multiple moving violations, plus Possession of Methamphetamine, Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, plus two outstanding warrants out of Lee and Whiteside County.  He was released with a notice to appear. On Tuesday morning, a second traffic stop led to a pursuit in the 500 block of West Flagg Road, where they say 22-year-old Andrew Gonzales allegedly fled, but later crashed near the intersection of Rock Nation and Lost Nation Roads. Gonzalez was charged with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude, DUI, and a number of moving violations. He was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was released with a notice to appear.
