BYRON - An 18-year-old Byron man was taken to a Rockford hospital after the Skid Loader he was operating was struck by a truck. Around 6 PM on Monday, Ogle County Deputies and first responders were called to the area of North German Church Road and North Kufalk Lane, where they found a skid loader, which was traveling west, had been struck from behind by a 48-year-old Dixon man driving a pickup. Authorities cited the Dixon man for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. There was no updated word on the Byron man's condition.
