ROCHELLE - Two Rochelle men, a father and son, are facing drug and weapons charges after an investigation into narcotics sales by the Rochelle Police Narcotics Team. On Tuesday morning, they, along with the Illinois State Police Swat Team and Rochelle Police Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Gary Street in Rochelle. While conducting the search, 37-year-old Darnell H. Wilson was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver fentanyl (Class 2 Felony), possession with intent to deliver cocaine (Class 2 Felony), possession of a controlled substance ecstasy (Class 4 Felony), and 3 separate weapons charges (Class 2 Felony). Rochelle Police also say they arrested Darnell’s son, 19-year-old Darzel A. Wilson, who was charged with possession of a controlled substance (Class 2 Felony) and one weapons charge (Class 2 Felony). Authorities also allegedly recovered weapons and $3,800 in cash. Both men were taken to Ogle County Jail. Darzel was released with a notice to appear, but at a pretrial release hearing on Thursday, Darnell was denied release and will remain in custody. He will have a status hearing on April 24th.
