1 person suffered injuries yesterday following a 3-vehicle crash in Ogle County. The accident took place in the 11 thousand block of North Route 2.
A car driven by 33-year old Juan Montoya-Rodriguez of Belvidere was traveling southbound on Route 2 and pulled into the northbound lane to avoid other vehicles that has slowed to make a turn.
The Montoya-Rodriguez car then struck a northbound vehicle driven by 51-year old Michelle Frazier of Byron. Frazier's car then struck a vehicle driven by 34-year old Kathleen Pfeifer of Byron.
Frazier had to be extricated from her car. She was then transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The other 2 drivers refused medical treatment at the scene.
Montoya-Rodriguez was ticketed by Ogle County Sheriff's Police for improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
