A DeKalb truck driver suffered a minor burn to his arm last night after the semi he was driving caught on fire.
The blaze took place a short time after 6:30 on Route 38, just east of Creston near the Ogle-DeKalb County line. .
Reports indicate that the flames started in the engine area. The cab was destroyed from the blaze as the fire spread to a portion the trailer area.
There were cardboard boxes filled with plastic caps in the trailer.
Firemen had to cut holes in the side of the semi to get to the flames.
The truck driver refused medical treatment. Firemen were on the scene for around 2 hours.
Traffic had to be detoured off Route 38 due to the fire last night.
